Caroline's Breads

I began baking in 1976 in Chapel Hill NC. My first bread was the Challah I still make today. I started baking bread because I wanted to utilize the products from our local food co-op and also to feed my family a more nutritious bread. I continue to bake after all these years for different reasons. Yes it is more nutritious, but the baking of bread symbolizes much more to me. I feel a deep sense of satisfaction in being able to take 3 ingredients and make them into a loaf of bread. The creating of my own wild yeast starter 4 years ago raised the bar on my level of baking . I get a deep sense of pleasure when I hold one of my loaves out to someone and see the look of surprise and pleasure when they take the first taste. My philosophy is simple , bread brings people together. It is the foundation of our eating. I want to share my creativity with others.
