Small Farms Making a Difference

Coming Soon To Your Community!

Our History: Auburn Locally Grown is a new online market being developed to serve producers and consumers in the Auburn/Montgomery communities. It is modeled after the one developed by Eric Wagoner for Athens, GA (check out their website at athens.locallygrown.net.). We hope to have the site up and running sometime this spring (‘07). Please check back often.

Our Mission: 1. To support local farmers using organic growing methods, though not necessarily certified organic; 2. To provide our local communities with fresh, healthful, locally grown produce. 3. To educate ourselves, our children and our community about sustainable, ecologically-sound farming practices.

Who are we? Auburn Locally Grown is a small group of local farmers dedicated to using environmentally-conscious, chemical-free growing methods to produce high quality, healthy, fresh food.

Why Buy Locally Grown? Buying Locally Grown will enable you to: 1. Support your local community – your grocery dollars will stay in the community 2. Conserve resources – your food will be produced locally instead of being hauled across the country. 3. Preserve a way of life – Your small community farms need your support. 4. Provide yourself and your family with the highest quality food possible.

Membership Fees: Membership fees are $25 per household per calendar year. The fees will be used to provide educational opportunities for the community, such as farm field days, workshops and other educational programs and to help with overhead costs. You are welcome to try Auburn Locally Grown for 2 orders before you sign up. The website will automatically add your membership fee to your third order.

Ordering Options: Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email that you receive lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers, and artisan goods available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.

Other Important Items: Placing Orders: To be announced soon.

Picking Up Orders: Customers can pick up their produce at (to be announced). Gift Certificates are available! If you would like to purchase a gift of health and flavor, please consider a Locally Grown gift certificate. You can decide the amount and the lucky recipient can purchase locally grown produce without having to pay membership fees! Sponsor a membership!
